Christine Johnson
Christine Johnson wanted to become an architect as a child and young adult. However, life veered in a new direction and she got her Ph.D. in Social-Clinical Psychology, focused on organizational change consulting and has found that “remodeling organizational cultures” makes her feel happy and useful. She has done a fair amount of building—a small house in her back yard and her husband’s music room. Her husband, Terrigal Burn, introduced her to the San Juan Islands where they have a cabin on Waldron. The land has been in the family since the 1930’s and his grandparents homesteaded in the San Juans in the 1920’s. Christine is a member of NCF, her forest is FSC certified, and she is working with interested members of the Waldron community to improve the ecological and economic ecosystems on Waldron Island. She is a Certified GreenPoint Rater for new construction in California where she lives as well as a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor.
