With a flagging wood market and transportation costs rising, the need to work locally to provide jobs and reduce transportation costs has become even more important. The real question is: Can we do this and still support a healthy environment? Five organizations that work locally and regionally believe we can support local economies and invest in a healthy forest ecosystem. These groups all work under the banner of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification and represent forest landowners that supply logs to mills, building and specialty wood products for local industries, and the paper that we use daily. Join us on June 17 to meet with these local organizations, learn what they do, and how they can provide you with the products and services you need to support the Quimper community.
