This workshop will highlight new markets and financial assistance programs for small woodland owners in East Jefferson County.

This workshop will introduce East Jefferson County woodland owners to local organizations that provide technical and financial assistance to help improve the ecological condition and economic returns of forestland.  Representatives from several organizations involved in the Jefferson LandWorks Collaborative will provide information on their programs for assisting woodland owners:

  • Northwest Natural Resources Group (NNRG) - Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification, forestry based carbon offsets, and local wood products manufacturing networks.
  • Jefferson Land Trust - Advantages of conservation easements
  • Jefferson Conservation District - Conservation planning resources
  • North Olympic RC&D/Natural Resource Conservation Service - Cost share incentive programs for stand enhancement and wildlife habitat.
  • Shorebank Enterprise Cascadia - Alternative financing from a non-profit lender

Join us at the WSU Learning Center Spruce Room in Port Hadlock, from 7 to 9pm on July 21st to learn more about these exciting new programs and income opportunities for small forest landowners.

Registration is free and preregistration is required. Please contact Ian Hanna at 360-379-9421 ext. 2 or by email to register.
