The regions forests are diverse and dynamic systems, and owning a small woodlot brings with it challenges and rewards. Oregon has almost 500,000 acres of private non-industrial forest lands and these woodlot owners are as diverse as the forests.

Different forest landowners may choose to emphasize
different values. Some own forestland to timber. Others own forestland to promote wildlife habitat. And many owners hope to promote a mix of environmental and economic values.

Come learn the basics of small woodlot management at this four hour course.

Topics will include
• Setting goals and determining objectives
• Inventory basics
• Different management styles
• Timber harvest types
• Wildlife and fisheries
• Forest health
• Funding and revenue sources
