The regions forests are diverse and dynamic systems, and owning a small woodlot brings with it challenges and rewards. Oregon has almost 500,000 acres of private non-industrial forest lands and these woodlot owners are as diverse as the forests. Different forest landowners may choose to emphasize different values. Some own forestland for timber. Others own forestland to promote wildlife habitat, and many owners hope to promote a mix of environmental and economic values. This one day workshop is designed to help the private forest owner (from 1-1000 acres) realize the potential of their woodlot. Participants will be introduced to many facets of woodlot management, with ample follow up material to take home as well as a free site visit to further discus options in the woods. Come learn what you can do for and with your forested lands.
