Hampton Certifies Tillamook, Recertifies Randle

Hampton Affiliates has certified both their Tillamook, OR and Randle, WA sawmills for FSC chain of custody.

Hampton Affiliates completed the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification process this summer under a program which provides the opportunity for each of the company’s U.S. mills to produce and certify lumber products as FSC.  Hampton’s Tillamook and Randle sawmills have both been through the audit process and will be producing, stamping, and marketing lumber products as FSC certified logs become available.  Hampton Lumber Sales (HLS), which has been FSC certified for chain of custody for over 10 years, has a marketing plan to target customers who want certified products.  The company is excited about the potential of increasing its capacity to produce FSC certified lumber products and serve this sustainability-sensitive customer base.

Dave Ivanoff, Hampton’s Vice President-Resources, said, “We are very much looking forward to developing new relationships with FSC certified vendors in both Oregon and Washington for our highly efficient manufacturing facilities.”  Hampton has a highly motivated and knowledgeable forestry group who manage the company’s certified timberlands and procure logs from outside sources.  Hampton is a dependable partner who purchases logs year round in good and bad market cycles and honors the purchase commitments made with its log providers.

Potential suppliers of FSC certified logs should contact:

  • Randle - Mike Davis or Darrell Alvord (360-748-4566)
  • Tillamook - Jeff Clevenger (503-763-8503) or Dave Kunert (503-815-6321)
