IRM Helps with NCF Expansion in Oregon

Integrated Resource Management has been contracted to conduct outreach and certification for Northwest Certified Forestry in Oregon

Northwest Certified Forestry is please to announce that Integrated Resource Management, a forestry consulting and restoration firm based in Philomath, will be assisting with the expansion of our programs in western and central Oregon.

IRM is a full service forestry firm and has been an FSC certified resource manager for several years, giving staff a solid understanding of FSC's unique standards and markets.

Owners Darin Stringer and Marc Barnes pride themselves on an ecosystem based approach, that balances profitability with ecological values. "We see partnership with the Northwest Certified Forestry program bringing our clients the best potential value when it comes to conservation driven markets." says Stringer.

The goal of the contract is to add 25 landowners from Oregon to the NCF group across a range of ownership types and scales by the end of the year. This additional FSC timber volume will provide added incentive for regional mills to engage the FSC market.

IRM is also in the application process to become an NCF Preferred Provider and will be teaching a two-day Inventory & Monitoring class for small woodland owners in April in Corvallis (stay tuned for more information).

To contact IRM for NCF membership and FSC certification, please call (541) 929-3408. For more information on IRM's services, please see www.irmforestry.com.

what they're saying

“FSC offers us an opportunity to distinguish our products
in the marketplace and NCF group certification cut our
costs by more than half. NCF has also been the most
active organization we know of in identifying regional markets
for our products.”
