Northwest Certified Forestry
Information on the Northwest Natural Resource Group's group certification program.


Northwest Certified Forestry is a membership program for small woodland owners that provides conservation-based forest management and forest products marketing assistance.
Over the past five years Northwest Certified Forestry has grown into a large network of forest owners and wood products manufacturers that specialize in locally produced forest products certified to the high standards of the Forest Stewardship Council.

- On-site forest management consulting
- Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification
- Customized marketing assistance for forest products
- Wildlife habitat enhancement planning, financing and implementation
- Educational workshops and training courses on topics relating to innovative forest management
- Assistance identifying financial assistance programs for conservation and small business development
- Referrals to a Preferred Provider network of high quality natural resource professionals, including consulting foresters and logging contractors
- Information services (publications, website, newsletter, e-mail bulletins, etc.)
- Ecosystem service market development (e.g. carbon credits)
Forest landowners in the Pacific Northwest manage their lands to some of the highest standards in the world, and NCF helps landowners to stand out in the marketplace and receive financial and public recognition for their efforts. We believe that managing forests for ecological diversity can translate to economic diversity, and in today’s quickly changing forest products marketplace, diversification is an increasingly important strategy for remaining economically successful.
